Help us re-locate our businesses!

On September 29th, all the traders within The Castle Emporium were given one month's notice to leave the building after many years of developing our community of indies and making a name for ourselves in Cardiff. The building has been signed over to a new development company who will be turning it into a micro-brewery (just what we need!) bringing the results of all our hard work, time, energy and money over the years to an abrupt end.

We're gutted about having to leave the Emporium building but we're excited to make new homes and keep our businesses alive and kicking! The money raised here will be split equally between the five current traders at TCE - The Sho Gallery, The Barber Room, Heads Above the Waves, Shelflife Books and Zines and Tropigaz - to help fund the costs of moving to new premises.

For over seven years, The Castle Emporium has been a unique, vibrant and affordable home for lots of small businesses in Cardiff to find their feet and establish themselves. This kind of opportunity is rare and hard to find and it's unlikely we'll find new locations with the same accessible and accommodating environment. Keep an eye out on our social media page, and the pages of all the traders, to see where the next steps lead us and if you can support us with a few ££, a share or even some kind words of encouragement, all your help is *hugely* appreciated.

Thank you for your loyal support and solidarity through all of this, we couldn't keep going without the ongoing encouragement and faith in the importance of shopping small and local that our wonderful community - you lot! - bring through the doors every day. We're not closing down and we're not shutting up shop, so watch this space!
