Salt Art Supply is a new art supply, stationery and giftware store opening in Autumn in Falmouth, Cornwall and we'd love your help!
As two illustration graduates from Falmouth University, we noticed the lack of a good old art shop in Falmouth town and decided to take matters into our own hands to open one. After a year of business plan writing and a lot of excited scribbles in notebooks, we've finally found the perfect space for our shop, and can't wait to bring our business to life and share our love of art supplies and stationery with you.
We want to be able to support Cornwall's creative community by offering a wide range of art tools and materials locally. As stationery enthusiasts ourselves, we know just how much joy finding the perfect notebook or pen brings and we want you to find that in our shop. Sustainability is very important to us, so although we'll still be offering well-known art and stationery brands, we'll also be stocking eco-concious alternatives and gifts.
The money we raise with this Crowdfunder will not only be going towards fitting-out our shop, but will also be used to order stock from the small creative businesses we've got our eye on and think you'll love too.
Where are we based? What will we sell?
Our shop will be opening at 24 Killigrew Street in Falmouth town. We will be offering all our products here and online at www.saltartsupply.co.uk, on our snazzy new pink website. Both will be launching this Autumn - hopefully at the end of October!
We'll be selling everything from watercolour paints to fineliners, from sketchbooks to lino blocks and everything in between. We've spent the last year researching your favourite brands, so we'll have a carefully curated selection of supplies that we think you'll love - including products from Winsor & Newton, Posca, Faber-Castell, Royal Talens, Daler-Rowney, Speedball and MT Masking Tapes.
We'll be offering a curated range of greetings cards and gift wrap, as well as craft kits and cute desk stationery. We want to use our space to support some of the independent creatives we love, and we can't wait to share the beautiful illustrated goods we've found. We're passionate about good quality, beautiful and functional products, and we're putting a big focus on items that are kind to the planet too.
We'll be doing our best to ensure we're stocking art supplies and stationery goods that you can't find anywhere else in Falmouth's high street. We're just starting out, but please let us know if there is anything you'd like to see and we'll do our very best to order it in for you!
Where is my money going?
Although we've found the perfect space to get started, there are a few things we need to change to make it our art and stationery shop of dreams - including replacing the current flooring (goodbye horrible striped carpet!) and using our DIY skills to make some Ikea shelves into multi-purpose till.
We'll also be using the money we raise to order in more varied stock for our shop, meaning we're able to cater to more art practices and support more small businesses we love. There are so many incredible brands and creative businesses we want to share with you, and we'd love to be able to offer a larger selection of them when we open so you can have plenty to choose from.
What are the rewards?

Illustrated Sticker Set
A set of five illustrated Salt Art Supply stickers. Printed onto eco-friendly 135gsm paper in the UK, these stickers are 100% PVC free and 100% recyclable. Each sticker measures approx. 8cm x 8cm. These stickers are made from paper and are water-resistant, but not suitable for long term use outside. Perfect for decorating your laptop or sketchbook! Illustrated Notebook Set
A set of three illustrated A5 notebooks. Each notebook has been designed by us in the Salt Art Supply pink and red brand colours, featuring artist tool and stationery motifs. Each notebook contains 40 pages and is different inside - one is ruled, one is dotted and one is blank. Made in the UK with recycled paper. These are available as a single reward, a bundle with our stickers, a bundle with our exclusive tote bag or as part of the Salt Art Supply Ultimate Merch Bundle!
Limited Edition Salt Art Supply Tote Bag
A limited edition Salt Art Supply canvas tote bag. Screen printed in the UK by the eco-conscious print studio Dungarees & Squeegees onto a natural 10oz gusseted tote bag - perfect for lugging around art materials or doing a big food shop! The illustration will be printed in a water-based red ink on one side. Each tote bag will measure approx. 43cm x 38cm. Gift Vouchers
Buy a gift voucher to spend with us! This voucher can be used either in our Falmouth shop or online at www.saltartsupply.co.uk once we launch. Gift vouchers are available in nominations of £5, £10, £20, £25, £30, £40, £50, £75, £100 and £150. You'll receive this voucher via email.
