Aim
Abercarn RFC are attempting to raise £20,000 to cover all costs associated with the upgrade of the Welfare rugby pitch floodlighting.
Abercarn RFC are attempting to raise £20,000 to cover all costs associated with the upgrade of the Welfare rugby pitch floodlighting. In securing this funding, we can continue to provide a safe, night-time environment for training and matches.
The intention is to replace all the existing fittings and bulbs on the eight posts with up-to-date, sustainable LED lighting.
The existing lighting is now many years old and like most things, is very expensive to maintain, with the cost of electricity, and the bulbs themselves doubling in price over the past few years. The replacement LED units will not only be much more efficient and cheaper to run, but also substantially more environmentally friendly.
The club uses the lights at least four times a week during the season, to enable the Senior, Youth and Mini and Junior teams to train, as well as playing several games under the lights during the same period. We are committed to providing the best facilities for our teams and this funding page will help go towards fulfilling that commitment.
