To expand affordable family court support for domestic abuse survivors across the UK who can’t access legal aid.
My name is Faryaal Hussain. I hold an LLB in Law and have spent the past eight years supporting individuals through family court proceedings.
Through my own life experiences, I understand how isolating and overwhelming the legal system can feel — especially for women facing abusive partners. Many are not eligible for legal aid, yet cannot afford solicitor fees of £30,000–£50,000 for child arrangement matters or thousands more for financial remedies. As a result, they are forced to represent themselves against experienced legal teams.
That is where we step in.
Our organisation provides hands-on support for people navigating family law proceedings. We assist with paperwork, prepare court documents, attend hearings with clients, and provide emotional support throughout the process. We are open seven days a week. All consultations are free. We offer fixed-fee packages — typically £7,000–£8,000 for a full child arrangements case and around £5,000 for financial remedy support — significantly less than traditional legal representation. Travel across the UK is included.
So far, we have helped over 100 individuals regain access to their children and navigate complex legal proceedings. We are proud of our strong track record and the trust reflected in our client reviews.
However, we are now at capacity.
We are turning away victims of domestic abuse and vulnerable parents simply because we do not have the staff, premises, or infrastructure to support them. As a privately funded organisation, we cannot access legal aid funding. We are a small team of two, based in Essex, working nationwide — but the demand is far greater than our current resources.
We are crowdfunding to:
• Employ additional trained staff
• Move to larger premises
• Implement a professional CRM and case management system
• Invest in technology to better support vulnerable clients
• Fund travel for emergency call-outs
• Create a hardship fund to assist those who cannot afford even our reduced fees
• Provide emergency support such as food packs and vouchers for single mothers in crisis
Our long-term vision is to establish offices in multiple locations across the UK and create a support model that bridges the gap between no legal aid and unaffordable private representation.
Right now, too many women remain trapped in abusive situations because they cannot afford the legal fight required to protect themselves and their children. We want to change that — but we cannot do it alone.
With your support, we can expand, reach more families, and ensure that no one is forced to face family court alone simply because they lack funds.
