Following the demise of their old van, the Mobile Refugee Support team are in urgent need of a new working van to enable them to go on delivering life-saving goods - from tents and warm clothes to food supplies - to refugees struggling to survive in sub-zero temperatures and despite police hostilities, across northern France.
So for every £1 donated to this pot of £2,500, we will be match-funding in full from the royalties of the award-winning children's book, The Boy at the Back of the Class (thank you lovely readers!).
A rather lovely second-hand van has been found, and a total of £5,000 will cover all purchase, insurance and road tax costs in full. We would LOVE to gift this van to the team by Christmas (or as soon as possible thereafter!), so that come 2022, the team are running at full-speed ahead!
