Aim: Our aim is to finish the changing room in Siren Asylum primarily by adding a second toilet to make it more accessible for its members.

Siren Asylum, Manchester's one-of-a-kind women’s alternative fitness centre and gym, needs your help to finally finish a vital part of their space — the changing room!

A Year Ago, Everything Changed for Siren Asylum...

This time last year, Siren Asylum was reaching the end of a lengthy legal battle after being illegally forced out by their landlord, suddenly losing their beloved venue and community hub and having to relocate and build a new studio from scratch. 

This was absolutely devastating to all of its staff and customers but thanks to the incredible generosity, strength, and unity of the Siren community, we raised enough to cover legal fees, find a new space, and slowly begin rebuilding.

In August 2024 we reopened our doors and welcomed back our beautiful community of unapologetically badass members for top quality classes and incredible environment. Since then we've still been constantly working behind the scenes to try and make Siren's the best place possible for all of our staff and members but the work isn’t done just yet... 

🚽 The Goal: A Changing Room That Works for Everyone

Right now, the changing room at Siren is still unfinished as we simply didn't have the time or funds to finish before reopening. Currently there is only one toilet in the studio, which is far from ideal — especially for chronically ill and disabled members who may urgently need access to a loo and we want to change that. 

Our incredible studio owner Kat can do almost anything but fitting a new toilet is one of the few jobs she unfortunately can't do herself (or you know she would!) as we need professional help and with that - money. If you know Kat you know she also would never ask for money herself (not even when we had to cover 10s of thousands of pounds for legal fees and start up costs!) BUT I will because I know how much everyone cares deeply about Siren Asylum and while a new toilet may not be the most glamorous thing to ask for, it is a necessity, especially for our chronically ill and disabled members and that's what's truly important to us. You'll never catch us spending money on luxuries, aesthetics or trivialities because that's not what we're about; Siren Asylum at its core IS our community and that will always be out top priority.  

This fundraiser will help us:

✅ Install a second toilet and sink — our top priority for accessibility and dignity.

🚿 Add a shower (if we raised enough!) — a game-changer for hygiene and post-workout comfort.

🔧 Finish off essential fixtures, fittings, and accessibility features to make the space welcoming and functional for everyone.
