We want to raise £500 for our Kids’ Corner, ensuring a welcoming space for children while adults access vital financial wellbeing services.
We want to raise £500 for our Kids’ Corner, ensuring a welcoming space for children while adults access vital financial wellbeing services. While we truly appreciate larger donations, we’d love to encourage smaller contributions too. This way, more people can feel part of it—so when you visit, you already have a sense of ownership over the space.
Our Vision for the Kids’ Corner
We know how important it is for parents to have a place to relax while their little ones play safely. That’s why we want to create a cosy Kids’ Corner with toys and activities to keep children entertained while parents enjoy a warm drink and some time out—without spending a fortune. This small addition will make a huge difference for families looking for an affordable, welcoming place to visit and connect.
But our vision goes beyond just children. At New Connections, we believe in supporting the whole community, which is why we also provide resources for adults. Alongside our children’s activities, we run workshops on budgeting and cost-effective cooking, as well as free employability support, including CV writing, interview preparation, and job search assistance. We also offer a mentoring service for those needing financial guidance. These services empower individuals to build financial independence and improve their well-being.
Building Financial Wellbeing from an Early Age
Through our Kids’ Corner, we also want to introduce fun, engaging financial literacy activities to help children build valuable life skills:
These activities will help young minds and create opportunities for families to talk about money in a positive and engaging way.
Why This Matters
Having accessible, low-cost community spaces is so important for mental health and well-being. Whether you're popping in for a quick tea break, looking to meet new people, or just needing a change of scenery, New Connections should be a place where everyone feels at home. By supporting this, you’re not just donating—you’re helping to create a space that belongs to the whole community.
How Your Donations Will Be Used
With just £250, we can buy:
These improvements will help us create a space that is welcoming for families while also supporting our broader services for the community. If we reach £500, we can go even further—adding more books, toys, and financial literacy resources to make the space even more engaging and educational. Every pound counts!
Get Involved!
Even if you can’t donate, we’d love for you to spread the word and pop in for a tea or coffee. Your support helps create a true community effort.
At New Connections, we’re all about building an inclusive, welcoming space where everyone can come together, enjoy a cuppa, and feel a sense of belonging. We already host the Montrose Centre’s much-loved Vintage Café on Fridays, but we want to do more throughout the week.
We receive no core funding, so everything we do is made possible by the generosity of our community and grant fundraising.
If you can, donate what you can—and pop in anytime for a warm drink and a friendly chat. Let’s build something wonderful together! 💛
