Help us Build a Clubhouse!

by Staplehurst Monarchs FC in Tonbridge, Kent, United Kingdom

We did it
On 28th May 2024 we successfully raised £19,553 ( + est. £455.00 Gift Aid ) with 86 supporters in 102 days

We are hoping to raise funds to build a clubhouse at our home ground, Jubilee Field, for use by the whole community!

 New stretch target

We would love to create a covered deck area, complete with heaters, tables and chairs.  This would be great both on matchdays, but also for dog walkers, or those wanting to sit in the fresh air with a drink and snack!

Staplehurst Monarchs were formed in 1893, and have played under several different guises.  The current club is made up of our Men's Team, playing SCEFL Division 1, our Development Team playing SCEFL Development League, and our Women's Team, many of whom had never played football before, who play South East Counties Women's Football League.  1708001537_women.jpg

Why are we crowdfunding?

We are hoping to build a clubhouse pitchside at Jubilee Field in Staplehurst.  This would help to make the club financially sustainable, as well as provide somewhere for refreshments not just on matchdays but every day.  We will be available for use by the whole community, and hope to be able to provide a hub for local community groups too.  Should the Men's team achieve promotion to SCEFL Premier Division, the FA require us to have a clubhouse.  We are lucky to have fantastic support on our matchdays and would like to be able to offer something back, all profit made will be reinvested back into the club and the site - our pitch is owned by the council and needs significant money spent to improve it.  Our sister club, Staplehurst Monarchs Youth, has 21 teams and having a clubhouse providing refreshments will help to support them too, giving players and their families access to locally produced food, and eventually enabling teams to play in the Kent Youth League.  1708001286_overview_1.jpg

How we’ll spend the money raised

All the money raised will be used to fund the building of the clubhouse, and hopefully a covered outside area too!

Community impact

We pride ourselves on being a community club, supporting local organisations as well as national charities. In recent times, we have collected for a local foodbank, which we have also donated excess food to after match days (or when matches are called off!).  We have raised funds for MacMillan Cancer Support, a regional charity supporting those in Ukraine and are planning to work with new local charity DadSpace.  We are proud to work with a local fundraiser, who competes in world challenges to raise money for Whizz Kidz & Freedom for Wheels. As well as this, we are keen supporters of Non League Day, raising money for Prostate Cancer UK.   We welcome everyone to our matches, and are lucky to have a committed fanbase of all ages, genders, and cultural backgrounds.  Having a clubhouse would enhance the matchday experience by bringing fans together, as well as enable us to do more to support our community - investing back in to the facility as well as giving local people somewhere to meet. We have met with a local wellbeing charity who are keen to extend their services into Staplehurst and this would give them a base to do that.  Football for us is about more than the players on the pitch; it is about building a community, supporting each other and being part of something special.1708001515_mascots.jpg
