Hi! I'm Rachel. I'm standing for the Green Party in Ilford North against Wes Streeting, the current shadow health secretary. Unlike Wes, I don't have big corporations, organisations or banks backing me with millions of pounds. All I have is people power.
My top priority for this election is to change our voting system, so that every vote counts equally, no matter where you live.
I also want to:
● Properly fund the NHS, ensuring free and timely access to healthcare for all, reversing privatisation and paying doctors and nurses properly
● Stop arms sales to Israel, a bilateral ceasefire and self-determination for the people of Palestine
● Make housing more available and affordable, with warm, safe homes for everyone by building or buying loads more council houses here
● Improve our water quality, protecting rivers and seas from sewage dumping
● Raise living standards and reduce inequalities, increasing the minimum wage and taxing those with the very highest incomes
● Improve access to nature and protect our shared environment by taxing big polluters
Vote Green for real hope and real change.
We aren't funded by big business, so we rely on support from people like you. I need to raise £500 for the deposit – anything more will go towards building capacity for future election campaigns and spreading our message of Real Hope. Real Change.
