Help Tom battle Guillain-Barré Syndrome

Aim

To financially support Tom, Alex and Theo through an incredibly challenging time. We want Tom and his family to focus solely on recovery!

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

My name is Adam, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart during one of the most challenging times of Tom's life.

Just 2 weeks ago, Tom,  was suddenly struck by Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) — a rare autoimmune disorder where the body's own immune system attacks the nerves.

What started as a normal winter cold quickly progressed to complete inability to move any part of his body below the neck. Tom is currently fighting every day at Russells Hall hospital to try to regain movement and the ability to breathe on his own.

Tom is a very proud man and would never ask for help himself. But I will on his behalf. Tom has an incredibly supportive girlfriend, Alex, a beautiful 4 month old boy, Theo and a big supportive family at home. Who are all desperate for him to get home to them. 

Recovery from GBS is often gradual — many regain the ability to walk and care for themselves within 6–12 months, but it takes patience, persistence, and resources. We're holding onto hope that with the right support, Tom will walk through the door one day soon, strong enough to scoop up Theo in his arms again.
