The Final Push: Help Feniton Secure Our Land

Aim

We aim to raise £50k to help purchase the lower field used by our teams, local school and community, and to begin vital clubhouse upgrades.

Who are we?

Feniton Sports & Social Club sits at the very heart of village life - an energetic hub where sport, community and good company all meet under one roof. As a registered CASC, we’re proud to be home to Feniton’s football family (men’s, ladies’ and youth teams), the village cricket club, and our ever‑competitive pool, darts and skittles teams.

But we’re far more than a sports ground. Our club is where the community gathers - whether it’s soaking up the buzz and excitement of Feniton Fun Day, celebrating local events, or watching the next generation sprint across our pitches during the school’s P.E. lessons and annual sports day.

We’re a place for teammates, families, friends and neighbours. A place to compete, to connect, and to feel part of something bigger.

In short: we’re Feniton’s home of sport, spirit and community life.

Why are we crowdfunding?

Feniton has spent years pushing back against relentless development, fighting to protect the green spaces that make our village what it is. Now we have a rare chance to secure one of those spaces permanently: the lower playing field and the land our clubhouse sits on are available for us to buy. If we don’t act, we risk losing the heart of our sporting and social life to future development.

At the same time, our long-serving clubhouse - the hub for teams, families and community events  - is in urgent need of essential upgrades. The most pressing issue is a new boiler, so we can keep our function rooms warm, welcoming and usable throughout the year. If we exceed our fundraising target, we hope to also replace the ageing roof and safeguard the clubhouse for years to come.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Every pound donated will go directly toward safeguarding and improving the spaces our community relies on. Your support will help us to:

Purchase the lower playing field and carpark, which will be held in trust with Feniton Playing Fields Association, securing them for future generations. 

Replace the ageing boiler, ensuring the clubhouse stays warm and comfortable

Support further essential upgrades to keep the building safe, functional and fit for purpose.

Our immediate priority is to purchase the land. Even if we don’t reach the full amount through crowdfunding, we are committed to securing it.

If there is a shortfall, we will apply for a bank loan, and we have a contingency plan should a loan not be approved. Every donation reduces the amount we need to borrow and helps protect the club’s future with as little financial strain as possible.

This project is about far more than land and buildings — it’s about protecting the heart of village life.

By securing the playing field and upgrading the clubhouse, we will:

Protect vital green space from future development

Provide safe, reliable facilities for Feniton’s football, cricket, pool, darts and skittles teams

Support local children, whose school uses the grounds for P.E. lessons and sports day

Enable community events like Feniton Fun Day to continue and grow

Create a warm, welcoming venue for celebrations, gatherings and social connection

How you can play your part

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.

1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!

2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.

3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!

4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
