Every year our intrepid volunteers put together a much-loved free film festival in venues across New Cross and Deptford. We show as many as 20 films over the ten-day festival to more than a thousand people in total - bringing people together to share a love of film in the company of friends, neighbours and the wider community.
But putting on a free festival still costs money!
- Each film has to be licensed for public screening (at least £150 per film)
- We produce a printed programme and posters to get the word out as far as possible (£800)
- We maintain projection equipment and pay for insurance from our umbrella organisation, the south-London-based Free Film Festival Family (£650 annual fee)
- For a pedal-powered screening - which is always popular with families and children - there's an extra hire charge for the equipment.
We've got a small amount left from last year's festival donations, and we're awaiting decisions on some funding applications, but we can't make the festival as big as we'd like it to be with what we've got in the bank right now.
Can you help us top up our funds and make this year's festival happen?
Whatever you can give will bring us closer to our goal of bringing free films to our local community this year!

Thanks from all of us.
