We're joining forces with Music Venues Trust and 30 underfunded grassroots music venues also in critical danger across the UK, to launch a nationwide campaign to enable us all to survive to March 2021 and beyond #SaveThe30
THE REALITY OF THE SITUATION FACING THE LEXINGTON
Whilst we were absolutely over the moon to see so many music venues across the country receive vital Arts Council funding, The Lexington was awarded just 40% of the funding we applied for. We were one of only a small number of GMVs who received a lesser amount than needed to ensure the recovery of the venue and the long term survival of our staff and freelancers.
As a central London venue we've had to withstand massive bills whilst we've been shut over the last seven months. Unfortunately the funding we were awarded from Arts Council is not enough to cover these obligations and allow us to reopen our doors in March 2021 without taking on massive debts. Our aim is to recover our financial stability and independence and continue to support grassroots artists for many years to come.
It is only with our dedicated team that we can continue to provide opportunities to thousands of artists at the earliest stages of their careers and we're committed to paying our core staff so we can to bring back The Lexington you know and love, hopefully giving you another decade of happy memories!

THE GOOD NEWS
Our 2021 calendar is packed full of incredible gigs that we were forced to cancel in 2020, taking in some of the most exciting breakthrough bands of the year so far with the likes of Pozi, Humanist, Egyptian Blue, Nuria Graham, Hey Colossus, Honey Harper, Dana Gavanski and Daniel Romano taking to the stage.
We were blown away by your generosity last time so rather than asking you to put your hand in your pocket we want to give you something tangible in return by teaming up with some of our favourite bands to bring you some great rewards for your support!
To start with we're going to be selling some great Music Venues Trust merch before adding limited t-shirts, totes and tea-towels designed by our nearest and dearest band mates. We've also got some massive gigs in the pipeline, raffling off the opportunity to see enormous artists in our legendary intimate live room once it's safe to reopen fully!
