We're still collecting donations
On the 12th May 2021 we'd raised £3,995 with 191 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
We are aiming to raise funds to replace the front window of our community centre, which has been smashed in recently. It will cost us £3000

With the extra money, we will do other crucial repairs to the building, which is an old building with many renovations needed. We have an incredible team of volunteers who are willing to help, we just need to buy the materials and equipment we need including:
- paint
- shelving units
- new boiler
- new furniture to replace old broken ones
Any more money raised will be used for running costs to keep us going!
The Hornbeam has been a community space for over 25 years and has recently been functioning as a food redistribution hub in response to COVID. We have been providing food to local food hubs, community kitchens and helping the community kitchen on site, The Gleaners, distribute over 80 meals a day on a pay-what-you-feel basis.
Our centre is on the busy Hoe Street in Walthamstow, instantly recognisable with it's blue boards and giant window panes, allowing passers by to look in and see what's happening in the community cafe. Recently, our window was broken with rocks or pellets being thrown at it, shattering the pane. We've done what we can to ensure the broken glass doesn't hurt anyone, but it needs to be replaced as soon as possible. We don't know why it was target or by whom, but our focus is on repairing the damage so we can continue the positive work we do.
We've received a quote from a local glazier to replace the window pane and now need to raise £3000 for this to happen. Please help us by donating what you can and sharing this crowdfunder widely!
