4th March 2019Happy Women's History Month Sheros!
March 2019 is a very special time for the Feminist Library. The Library team is still is in the process of preparing for our big move, while we join the rest of the feminist world for Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day celebrations. Our wonderful volunteers have continued the cataloguing and packing of our collection and work continues apace on our new space. Our newly repurposed shelves have now arrived at our new home! And we’re expecting latest, updated designs from our fabulous team of feminist architects, designers and makers soon!
Our Crowdfunder will run until March 29th, with the aim of raising our online stretch target of £48,000 to cover the whole move cost, which means we are still £9,000+ away. Please help us spread the word, so that we can reach our target this Women’s History Month, we are very nearly at our goal!
In other news, we will be holding our AGM on the evening of 14th March and celebrating our 44th birthday. Middle age is treating us wonderfully, please do join us! Also, earlier that day, at Moving Picture Cinema, there will be a screening of short animation films made by LCC students about the Feminist Library!
This March, we also will be leading a Heritage Tour with South London Gallery on the 31st, and taking part in an IWD Zine Fair and featuring in a Camberwell College of Arts exhibition. Our community events and stalls are happening as usual, and the Feminist Library Mobile Van will be continuing its tour (yes really, a Feminist Library Mobile Van!).
