Help the Feminist Library build its new home

Hope you're managing to stay well during this difficult time. Since the beginning of this crisis, we have been spending a lot of time at the Library thinking about how we could continue to do our work while the physical Library is closed. This has been a testing time for us, as for so many, as we've had to completely rethink our ways of working, deal with new challenges, and transfer all our events online. With new experiences such as Zoom bombing entering our dictionaries, we have been doing our best to ensure that these spaces are as safe as possible, while also continuing to have accessibility at heart. 

Here are some highlights of what we've done so far: 

• Our book clubs have moved online, and continued running with little interruption over the past few months. Our Spanish book club has even introduced additional sessions to ensure that its members continue to feel connected as much as possible in lockdown. This month, our Polish book club is having a special meeting on 10th June - in English - with a couple of awesome activists from the Polish Women's Strike talking about the power of international feminist solidarity, as well as the global networks of the anti-choice movement; and our Spanish book club is organising a special session on migration, resistance and solidarity, as part of the Antiuniversity Festival on the 9th. Our book clubs have also decided to join forces and organise a new, international, book club, focusing on building feminist solidarity through the crisis! • We are also just about to start a new programme of online events - on the theme of care. Starting on the 4th June, these events will focus on communities most affected by this crisis, as well as the multiple crises that have exacerbated it, and how we can support those most in need to get through this. On this theme - we have also been working on a care zine, which will be launched soon as part of this series.  
• We have started a new online resources section on our website, as well as including these in our e-bulletin since the beginning of the lockdown. As you will see, the website resources are very much work in progress at this stage, as we've just set this up, but we will continue working on it, and doing our best to provide a wide range of accessible resources while the physical Library is closed. We especially want to focus on providing useful resources for those affected by the crisis. Our new international book club will also be collecting and distributing resources in many languages. If you'd like to contribute, please do not hesitate to get in touch! 
• Finally, we are working on setting up a new page on our website, which will be our long-awaited online shop! Do keep an eye out for that and sign up to our newsletter, if you haven't yet, to get the news about the launch as soon as it happens. In preparation for this, we have digitised all of our zines, and we are making these available to new Friends in the meantime. This month's special offer is our digital 'A Feminist Space Is...' zine. So please do sign up, if you haven't already, and encourage your friends to support the Library through this difficult time too, by sharing this link with them.
