On the 26th November 2024 we'd raised £2,223 with 52 supporters in 27 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The Brewery is in its 8th year of business: we are an independent coffee shop & deli in Sileby, Leicestershire. We serve breakfast, lunch, coffee, cake, afternoon teas & local tipples (as we have an alcohol licence).
As well as incredible coffee, we pride ourselves on creating awesome events for the community.

We have a huge garden at the back of our shop which we took on & started paying rent on in 2021. It seats approximately 100 people & without it The Brewery would not be here today. (Remember when you could only open your coffee shop if you had an outdoor space!? The garden saved us!)
Due to the extra space that the Brewery Garden has given us, we have naturally evolved into creating special events for the community to enjoy: from Baby Clubs, children's crafts, slime & reptile workshops, to networking events, Pop up restaurants , live music & bar nights. The space has created so many opportunities to work with lots of local small businesses.
The Brewery Garden is an incredible space, but odd in shape and split into 2 areas, with uneven ground which is not accessibility friendly and unused for half of the year, due to the weather.

So, The Brewery Garden is in desperate need of your help!
WE PLAN TO TRANSFORM THE BREWERY GARDEN INTO AN ACCESSIBLE ALL WEATHER SPACE: WITH A PERMANENTLY COVERED AREA FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS & GATHERINGS:

WHAT?
1. REPLACE GARDEN FLOOR:
Remove current flooring: uneven gravel & stone which is impractical & inaccessible for wheelchairs & pushchairs.
Install new floor: accessible, flat, solid surface (e.g. Artificial grass).
2. INSTALL BESPOKE STRETCH TENT:
Create an all-weather, covered garden area: The Bespoke Stretch tent will fit our awkward shaped garden, to maximise the use of space. It will cover the top & bottom areas. Including waterproof & windproof roof with removable sides for flexibility with rain / sunshine.
With addition of power & heating, to allow for all year-round community events & gatherings.
WHY?
We want to create a large, versatile community space, which is accessible for all, regardless of the weather.
The stretch tent will be spacious, the flooring will be solid & flat creating a surface which is accessible for pushchairs & wheelchairs.
The great British weather is more unpredictable than ever, with changeable & unreliable seasons; warm Winters & wet Summers. The new Stretch Tent will have a roof & detachable sides, enabling us to make full use of the garden in all weathers.
Connecting power and heating to the tent, further enables us to use it all year round.
The Brewery Baby Club:
Providing a safe space for Mums & babies to meet, play, chat & creating an important support network. Our only problem is turning people down when we simply don’t have enough space! We can’t wait to hold our Brewery Baby Club in the new stretch tent & not limit the numbers. These events offer taster sessions from local baby businesses; e.g baby yoga/ baby sensory, etc. We have so many collaborations already in place with lots of local businesses. The huge space in the stretch tent will allow us to accommodate this, so more people can experience the activities within the community.
Festive & Spring Markets:
We get asked every year about these markets! We first held our markets inside, when we opened in 2016: but they were so popular & was just not enough space! From 2021 we used the garden space & held the Markets outdoors (where the there was constant queue for 3 hours to get in!) We bought gazebos for the market- they blew away! They broke! And they were NOT waterproof!
However, these markets were wonderful events for the community & showcased so many local independent small businesses. So, to hold these Markets again, but under our new stretch tent would be a perfect space & wonderful events for the local area.
Children’s Events:
We have been creating workshops & events which are fun & educational for children since 2016. From Slime making, music workshops & cake decorating, arts & crafts, to Reptile meet & greets with the local Reptile shop.
We have lots more planned & look forward to being able to hold many more events without having to restrict numbers to weather & indoor space.
Pop Up events:
Since we opened in 2016 we have loved organising Pop Up events in the evening at The Brewery: We are proud supporters of live music with our bar nights: Cocktail evenings, Gin/ Rum & Beer tasting events & Pop up restaurants. All collaborating with many local businesses.
Creative workshops for adults have also been a big part of what we do, with wreath making, Macrame, Glass Fusion & Clay workshops all keeping our creative juices flowing.
We look forward to being able to hold more community events and workshops & even bigger events in the new outdoor space. Providing the community with an alternative venue for food/ drink / music/ workshops & evening entertainment.
NEW Wellbeing Workshops:
Putting wellbeing first; using our stretch tent to offer more to the community:
Sound Baths/ Yoga/ Cacao Ceremonies / Gardening club/ art workshops/ art therapy / knitting / book clubs/ craft clubs & clay workshops, so many ideas we are excited to explore, with the mind in mind.
NEW Women’s Workshops:
Menopause / Mums / Mindfulness / Meditation/ Manifestation; creating a safe private space for women to talk/ share & learn; in our stretch tent to explore women’s issues, celebrate all that is being a woman.
Any suggestions for our new workshops will be welcome.
WHEN?
Now!
The Brewery Garden is currently closed, from 1st October 2024, until Christmas: due to the Landlord undertaking construction work on the outbuilding.
We see the closure as an opportunity to transform The Brewery Garden now, while it is already closed & under construction.
As soon as the landlord has finished his renovation of the outbuilding (December 2024 is the proposed completion date), we can begin our transformation; get the new flooring down & the bespoke stretch tent up, power installed & heating ready, ready for a Spring opening!
(Hence the urgency with the crowdfunder; to get our bespoke stretch tent designed & made asap)
HOW?
Can you help our garden grow!?
We have loved creating a hub on the high street & serving the community for the last 8 years. We have tried to repay our thanks by donating to so many areas of the community each year: from the giveaways with the local library, donations to schools in Sileby, Rothley, Mountsorrel, Quorn, Barrow, Seagrave & Cossington, sponsoring the local children's football kits, gymnastics & rugby teams, Beavers, village fetes & Christmas fairs, to name a few.
We hope that you can support us too, to help build a huge community space, as we cannot wait for to open the new garden for you in the Spring!

£20k
3.Instruct local electrician to install outdoor power to tent for light & heating =
