When nurses and midwives suffer hardship, Cavell Nurses’ Trust gives help.
We transform their lives. The nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants we help say they’re often happier, healthier and able to stay in or return to work.
Cavell Nurses’ Trust is the charity supporting UK nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants, both working and retired, when they’re suffering a personal or financial crisis often due to illness, disability, domestic abuse and rising living costs.
From simple, essential support like money to repair or replace a broken cooker, to vital life-changing aid like helping a family flee their home due to domestic abuse, Cavell Nurses’ Trust is here to help.
The team at Cavell saw a 230% increase in the number of people needing help during the first 10 months of 2022 (based on the same period in 2021) and since then applications for help have remained very high as the rise in living costs affects us all.
Cavell’s Support Team work with individuals facing hardship and crises to improve their financial wellbeing. It does this through providing life-changing advice and support on entitlements to benefits, budgeting, means to maximise income, referrals for debt advice, strategies and tips for dealing with the cost of living crisis, and the provision of emotional support which enables individuals to manage their finances more effectively. The fundraising target would look to facilitate three staff members to support the nursing and midwifery family with their financial wellbeing for 6 months in 2023.
