To double our size for even more bookish fun, creating a bespoke children's area and space for book events, activities and more!
Jeff, Cerith and Lucy are the Storyville Books team and we all love Pontypridd, books and making the community an even better place.

Jeff is a founder of the Pontypridd Children's Book Festival and is passionate about all sorts of books but especially history and non-fiction.

Cerith is a founder of the Cardiff Book Festival and is Director of the Pontypridd Children's Book Festival. Cerith is a writer and journalist whose adventures in literature have taken her all over the world. She especially loves reading and writing about the literature of the Deep South.

Lucy is a teacher and is one of the editors of Paperbound, an online magazine of YA and children's books and loves helping our customers to find their next great book.

We first opened the doors of Storyville Books in Pontypridd just over a year ago. During that time we've put ourselves at the heart of the community, and helped rejuvenate our little part of Pontypridd town centre. We've worked closely with schools to encourage a love of reading for pleasure and inspire a new generation of readers. We also work with community groups, local writers and artists and the wider community.
In the short time we've been open -- we've made our mark on Pontypridd. We collaborated with a local primary school, where the children helped us to design, make and put together our Christmas window display, which won the town's Christmas window competition. We celebrated World Book Day with several local schools in the area and we've worked with authors, artists, book groups, and businesses to put books, reading and creativity front and centre in Pontypridd and beyond.

Our co-owner Cerith collaborated with the local Town Council, heading up a project to create a permanent storytelling trail in Pontypridd, based on a new retelling of the tales of the Mabinogi. Cerith worked closely with the book's editors and the Town Council on a series of story stones and storyboards that make up The Mab Trail, inspiring the next generation of storytellers with Wales' most ancient myths and legends and the local landscape of Pontypridd.

We have an opportunity to expand into the adjacent unit. This will allow us to grow our space, providing room to stock more books, hold more events and activities and put the business on a secure footing for years to come.
We need help to pay for building and decoration work as well as furniture. Your support will help create a wonderful and inspiring space for the only independent bookshop in Pontypridd and the wider area.
We hope the rewards will whet your appetite and we hope to see you in the shop soon.
