Born in 2016 Shake-Scene Shakespeare is currently the only UK based theatre company to perform exclusively from cued parts. Much in the way that (we think) Shakespeare's own actors would have done.
This year we've been invited by the beautiful Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot to bring two of our iconic shows to their Sir Ken Dodd Performance Garden.
(Details and tickets here: https://shakespearenorthplayhouse.co.uk/event/shake-scene-shakespeare/).
This is a huge step for our company that so far has only ever reached outside of the South West of England by use of the magic of Zoom and we need your help to match our funding goal.
We are looking to bring a company of 8 up to Prescot to star in both As You Like It and Antony and Cleopatra. Two very different romances for 8 very different performers.
We've been applying and securing some grants BUT we still need your help. With us, your money could help pay for things like travel, accommodation, costumes, photography, videography, and most importantly paying the wages of our creatives (performers, designers. etc). With us you can help support the ever battered creative fields AND bring a little money to the local economy.
On our side we can promise to make every penny count and, most importantly, to bring some fun, family friendly, and relaxed performances to audiences old and new. After all, as we firmly believe, Shakespeare is for EVERYONE.
So check out our FUN rewards and see if you can give us a hand!
If you want to know more about us and what we do follow us on social media and visit our website here: https://www.shake-sceneshakespeare.co.uk/

“I would like to tell you how much I enjoyed your production of Much Ado About Nothing. I felt that your approach to the text made me hear lines that I know well in a different way. I found that really refreshing as well as intriguing. I brought my family with me, including my three children, and we all had such a lovely time! The atmosphere you created was welcoming and fun. Your theatre productions are an asset to the venue as well as a great way to get to know Shakespeare.”
