Help Us Create the New Scribble Studio! We’re expanding into a bigger creative space for Bingley, and we’d love you to be part of it.

Meet Remi, Scribble Studio Founder

Hi I’m Remi, artist, mother, and founder of Scribble Studio... a creative space in the heart of Bingley offering artist-led classes, art workshops, school-holiday camps and parties for children and young people.

Scribble Studio is a joyful creative space where children can learn real art skills, experiment freely, express themselves, and grow in confidence.

I started Scribble because it was the kind of space I longed for as a child: somewhere warm, inspiring and welcoming, where creativity was nurtured and taken seriously. 

Since then, I’ve poured so much of myself into building that dream. But now we need to move from our current home, and we have the chance to grow Scribble Studio into something bigger, brighter and even more exciting.

What We’ve Built So Far

When I started Scribble Studio, I had no business plan, no funding and only three students. I also found out I was pregnant that same week, so from the very beginning it was a huge leap of faith, but I knew how much a space like this could mean to children.

Four years later, that one tiny class has grown into a busy creative studio offering home-ed sessions, after-school clubs, teen classes, half-term camps, workshops, birthday parties, exhibitions and free community events.

We’ve welcomed hundreds of children through our doors, watched them grow in confidence and skills, and seen what happens when children have a space where their creativity is taken seriously.

Scribble Studio isn’t just a place to make art. It’s a place to belong, experiment, be encouraged, and feel part of a local creative community.

Why We’re Crowdfunding

So why do we need help now? We are currently located within Bingley Music School and share our space with them. Both our businesses are expanding and the music school needs their teaching space back so they can offer more brilliant music lessons for local students.

Sharing the space also means we’re limited in the number of days and times we can offer classes, which means we can’t grow Scribble Studio in the way we’d love to. 

We’ve reached the point where Scribble really does need a bigger home of its own. So, naturally, while pregnant again, I’ve decided this is the perfect time to open a bigger studio (because apparently we don’t do things by halves around here!)

The dream for the new studio

I’ve found a space that could become something really special… a bigger, brighter creative home for Scribble Studio. We’d be able to host more of the things you know and love from us like our classes, camps and parties.

But alongside that, the new space will be perfect to host play and paint sessions for younger ones and classes for adults which we constantly get asked about. We can work bigger, experiment more freely, and even create the kind of installation art I’ve always dreamed of bringing into the studio.

A place where people of all ages can come to make, learn, connect and feel part of something.

Where the Money Will Go

Moving into a new space comes with a lot of upfront costs, and it’s quickly become clear that turning an empty room into a working art studio takes much more than signing a lease.

Funds raised will help cover:

• Legal fees including our solicitor’s costs and a contribution towards the landlord’s legal costs.
•  Three months rent upfront
• Protective flooring requested by the landlord
• Furniture, storage and shelving for a much larger studio
• Signage, deposits and all the practical bits that make the space work

Because we’re currently capped on how many days we can teach, we can’t simply add more classes to cover those costs quickly. So we’re asking our community to help us get this new studio off the ground.

We know times are difficult for lots of families, so we wanted this Crowdfunder to feel joyful, useful and genuinely worthwhile.

Instead of simply asking for donations, we’ve created a selection of rewards, vouchers, gifts and creative treats. You might buy a voucher for future classes, camps, parties or workshops, choose a gift for yourself or someone you love, bring home a piece of artwork, or simply pledge an amount that feels right for you.

By supporting the Crowdfunder, you’ll be helping us create a bigger arts space for Bingley and the surrounding community.

And if you’re not able to support financially, sharing the campaign, telling a friend, commenting on our posts or sending us a message of encouragement genuinely helps too. Every share, pledge and kind word helps us get a little closer to opening the doors.

This isn’t just about growing a business. It’s about protecting and growing a creative space shaped by the children, families and local people who have been part of Scribble Studio so far.

Now we have the chance to create a bigger, brighter home for all of it: a space where more children can feel confident and proud, families can connect, adults can make time for creativity too, and art can feel like a joyful part of everyday life in Bingley.
