We are aiming to raise £3000 to cover costs and get us comfortably to the end of term so we can recruit and secure longer-term funding.
Halifax Young Singers is an award-winning non-auditioned community choir in West Yorkshire for young people aged 7-21, aiming to provide excellent musical opportunities and a sense of belonging. We operate across 2 groups, our Children's Choir for ages 7-11 and our Youth Choir for ages 12-21.
Over the last few years we have faced challenges to recruitment which has led to a decline in new singers and, therefore, income. Without rapid financial support we run the risk of having the close the doors on a choir with 35 years of history. We DO NOT WANT THIS TO HAPPEN! Our aim is to use the funds raised to stabilise ourselves in the next few months in order to apply to further grants and move on to the next stage in our recruitment scheme. Please, please consider donating to our campaign as well as letting young people in Calderdale know about us!
