With this we will be able to bring the former staff back sooner than planned, creating local employment and providing a complete and knowledgeable service once more
Biddles needs your to help rescue our store!
Biddles, Guildford's oldest stationery shop, is a well-loved Guildford retailer that has been supported by our loyal customers for over 135 years. Trading throughout the great depression and both world wars, however now we need your help.
Covid-19
Due to the pressure of Covid-19, our owners went into administration and we were left with the overnight reality that Biddles was to close! Its entire staff were to be made redundant, leaving everyone in a great sense of shock.
There is a real desire for the shop to re-open!
David and Neal, the managers for 30 and 50 years respectively, are driven to rescue the store and are ploughing their savings in to this project, however the costs keep rising and funding has become very difficult to find, with the Council, Government & Banks concentrating their support for those trading through the Covid-19 period. Sadly, we are not eligible for this help as our rescued shop will be seen as a new company.

We appreciate any assistance you can offer, even just letting people know, would be a great help.
Our ultimate aim is to provide all of our former full time staff with a job once more. Between our team, there is nearly 150 years of experience and we are determined to provide Guildford with the same level of knowledge and customer service we pride ourselves on.
