Aim

We urgently need to raise funds to purchase a Defibrillator to replace the one that went missing from Oakleaze Road, Thornbury.

In 2024 Thornbury Rotary and Great Western Air Ambulance raised the money to purchase and instal a Defibrillator machine in Oakleaze Road. Over the past 2 years it has been called upon many times, potentially saving lives.

But recently, this community defibrillator has gone missing, leaving residents without a vital, life‑saving resource. We’re raising funds to replace it so it’s always available when someone’s life depends on it.

A Defibrillator can be the difference between life and death. When someone suffers a cardiac arrest, every minute without treatment reduces their chances of survival. That's why public access defibrillators are so important - they give ordinary people the power to save a life before emergency services arrive.

Our previous Defib unit is no longer available, and we can’t risk being without one. We have a temporary one on loan but this will need to be returned soon. This fundraiser ensures our community is protected again and for the long term.

Thornbury Rotary need to raise £950 to buy a replacement Zoll AED Plus Defibrillator to go into the cabinet on the side of the Morrison's store in Oakleaze Road, Thornbury. We will then continue to monitor and maintain the Defib.

With your help we hope to raise the £950 by 31st July so that we can get the replacement Defib installed as soon as possible and ensure this potentially life-saving equipment is available to help those who might need it. Any surplus will be used for maintenance, replacement pads/batteries or additional CPR awareness activities

This is a community effort to restore a community asset. Together we can make sure that no one in this area is left without help when it matters most.

Please donate whatever you can and help us restore this essential life-saving equipment. Share the campaign with friends, neighbours and local groups - together we can make a difference
