Raise The Children orphanage needs help to buy land for new buildings and for growing their own food so they can become more self-sufficient
Muwonge Badru set up the Raise The Children orphanage in late 2018 after Covid hit in Uganda. Some of the children were orphaned due to the pandemic, others are street children that had nowhere to go. The orphanage currently looks after about 40 children - feeding, clothing and helping them attend the local school. There is no other help for these kids - Muwonge and a couple of helpers are all they have to give them a chance of a decent future.
We are helping Muwonge with this Crowdfunder because every month it is a struggle for him to pay the bills on their rented accommodation as well as feed and equip the children for school. We have been helping with these monthly bills but now Muwonge has plans for a building that will enable the orphanage to become more self sufficient.
With the money raised from this Crowdfunder, Muwonge will be closer to his goal of independence and security by buying land for his own orphanage. With his own buildings and land he would no longer need to find money for rent every month, and they would also be able to grow their own food on the land, leaving more money for things like medicine and books, which will radically improve the lives of the orphans under his care.
We know that life is hard everywhere, and very possibly you have little or no spare cash to offer, but if you do think you can make a donation, however small, it would be incredibly welcome. You will be helping bring a dream to life for these children who have so little but whose lives could be transformed if we can help Muwonge raise the money to build this orphanage.
