Aim

Delivering safe emergency shelter and dignity to displaced families in Gaza through Relief Housing Units with UNDP.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is launching its first staff-led Community Initiative in Gaza, in partnership with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), to help provide emergency Relief Housing Units (RHUs) for families displaced by the ongoing crisis.

Our goal is to raise EUR 50,000 through staff fundraising efforts, which EBRD will then match 1:2, by an amount of up to EUR 100,000, subject to the terms and conditions of the EBRD Community Initiative.

This means that for every pound you donate, EBRD will donate two!

The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with widespread destruction leaving countless families without safe shelter. Many people are currently living in overcrowded, unsafe, and unsanitary conditions, having lost their homes and access to basic necessities.

Through this initiative, we aim to support the provision of dignified, safe, and inclusive transitional housing solutions for internally displaced households across Gaza.

The RHUs will help provide:

  • Immediate protection and safety
  • Privacy and dignity for families
  • Basic living conditions during displacement
  • Support for vulnerable households, including women-headed families and people living with disabilities

This initiative has been developed in close partnership with UNDP, which is working on the ground to identify urgent needs and deliver support where it is needed most.

This effort reflects a shared commitment to supporting communities in Gaza during an incredibly difficult period and helping provide immediate relief, dignity, and hope to those affected.

Every contribution, no matter the size, will help support families who urgently need safe shelter and protection.
