Help protect Ukrainian defenders with camouflage covering made by volunteers of the mineworkers union NGPU.

We are seeking to raise £5,000 to purchase materials to help in assembling camouflage netting to protect solders at the front. This includes specialist materials which can protect defenders from drones with infrared and/or thermal vision. The only way to block that is with this high-tech material.

Lidiya Galkina (pictured above) was head of the NGPU (Independent Trade Union of Miners of Ukraine) branch at the Toshkivska mine in the now occupied Luhansk region. She was forced to flee to the mining city of Pershotravensk (Shakhtarske), where she organised the "Step Towards Victory" humanitarian centre that produces this camouflage netting (also pictured).

The team of volunteers assemble camouflage and collect winter clothing, medical aid and other items for their fellow workers in the freezing trenches.

In November, Ukraine Solidarity Campaign volunteers travelled to Donbas and met Lidiya and her team of volunteers - whose work provides much needed aid and protection for hard-pressed defenders resisting Russian aggression.

The Independent Trade Union of Mineworkers (NGPU) is appealing for your assistance, which will help purchase the much-needed materials the centre needs.

This will include specialist materials for camouflage, winter clothes and medical aid.
