# Help People Rediscover Their Connection with the Earth 🌍

What if people could experience soil not just as dirt beneath their feet, but as a living world of which they are a part?

We depend on soil for food, healthy ecosystems and life itself. Yet most of us rarely stop to think about our relationship with this extraordinary living world. Soil can store massive amounts of carbon and treated properly, it can remove carbon from our atmosphere, helping to mitigate the effects of global warming.

I Am Soil Stories workshops provide virtual journeys; a creative experience designed to help people explore that relationship for themselves. People care more for things they feel a connection with, so our workshops provide that vital link and create a sense of responsibility for soil and a chance for behaviour change to take place.

Created by I AM THE UNIVERSE EXPERIENCE CIC, the project invites people to discover soil in a fresh way and express their responses through art, poetry, music, movement and other forms of creativity.

Those responses may become part of our growing Global Gallery — creating a conversation and a collection of personal creative expressions connecting people with soil across places and cultures.

Why this matters

Information about soil is important, but a personal connection will always inspire people more to take action.

Our approach brings together imagination, creativity and soil education to explore that possibility. We want to make soil meaningful to people who might never attend a soil science event or consider themselves environmentalists.

This is about curiosity, discovery and the realisation that we are connected to the living Earth in ways we may never have considered.

What your support will make possible

We are raising £3,000 to deliver an initial community pilot of I Am Soil Stories.

Your contribution will help us to:

• Deliver a small programme of creative soil experiences with community participants.
• Provide the materials and practical support needed for participation.
• Help participants develop and share their creative responses.
• Grow the Global Gallery so that more people can encounter these expressions of connection.
• Document what participants experience and learn, to help us improve future sessions and assess their potential.

We want to learn from the people who take part, understand what resonates with them and develop the project responsibly.
