Since the start, the aim has been to alleviate parents' discomfort while shopping. Help me get Pram Trolley into supermarkets!
Hi, I’m Eleni, a Product Design student at Loughborough University (UK), and this is my story:
I have always been passionate about design, so when I was looking to design a new product and I found myself shopping in the supermarket with my mum and my 3-year-old sister at the time, I noticed the inconvenience my mum was going through while shopping in the supermarket with my sister on the buggy:
It wasn't possible for her to push a shopping trolley with her alongside the buggy and holding a basket was putting a lasting strain on her arms and wrists, leaving her arms hurting even hours after leaving the supermarket.
What I found after conducting initial research with over 50 parents was surprising – almost all of the parents found shopping with a buggy highly inconvenient, with some even positioning the shopping in places where it is dangerous for themselves or the child!
Doing some research online showed me that there are hundreds of parents experiencing the same issue: ‘How on earth do you shop in a supermarket with a pram’ – Thread on Mumsnet
It was clear to me that I needed to develop a product to help all these parents. So I started studying standards, regulations, and many different types of prams.
After many initial ideas and over 20 prototypes tested by multiple parents with multiple types of buggies in the supermarket, the feedback led me to the final solution: Pram Trolley.

Not only that, the feedback I received from parents after seeing and using Pram Trolley was unbelievable!
‘I love it! It would make shopping a LOT easier.’
‘I think the idea is brilliant!’
‘Thumbs up from all the mums with the buggies!’
‘I think it’s really brilliant, it’s something that every parent with a buggy would absolutely call a lifesaver for shopping and I can’t wait to use it in the supermarket!’
‘This is amazing!’
‘I like that it can be used at the side or at the front, very versatile.’
These are some comments made by parents in a local nursery after interacting with Pram Trolley.
So far, I have filed an application for a patent and have officially registered the design in October!
Now I need YOUR HELP to raise funds to kindle the manufacture of Pram Trolley to make our dream of seeing it help parents in the supermarket come true!
