Aim
Our drums are worn out! We can no longer tune them and we need to buy new instruments, cases, straps and sticks. Please help!
Our wee samba group has really taken off over the last four years. Players began with little or no experience and are now performing Brazilian carnival grooves to delighted local audiences! At the beginning we borrowed a variety of instruments and we were kindly donated some drums from generous musicians. Our surdos (big bass drums), were the first ever prototypes of drum makers Tatu Drums. Despite efforts to patch up and repair the metalwork, frames and replace the skins- the drums are no longer easily tuned and they really don't sound great... Our players (and audiences!) deserve better. As our skills improve - we want our sound to improve too! We also need to upgrade some other instruments, and get new straps, stick and cases. If we exceed our target, we'll develop and upgrade our costumes and invest in quality tuition.
