We need your help to keep Newquay Women's Surf Club alive! 💙 This club is more than just surfing; it's a community where women and girls feel they belong.
I’m going to be doing the 100 pop ups challenge, where I'll be doing 100 pop-ups a day in November to raise money for the club.
What the club means to me and why I’m fundraising for NWSC
I joined Newquay Women's Surf Club CIC around 4 years ago and it's introduced me to an incredible community of like-minded, supportive women. It has progressed my surfing and I've met and made so many amazing friends along the way. It has given me opportunities to build my skills, such as gaining a lifeguard qualification and I've become involved within the committee to help with the club's day to day running.
NWSC often operates with little or no funding, relying heavily on the dedication of our members, volunteers, and the wider community. While this has helped us build an incredible environment, we simply cannot continue without financial support.
This Crowdfunder is essential to our future. Without it, we face the real risk of being unable to provide the accessible surf coaching, ocean education, and community-building experiences that we love.
Newquay Women's Surf Club CIC provides:
1. Community and Support: They create a fun, friendly and welcoming environment where women can connect, share experiences, and support one another in a traditionally male-dominated sport.
2. Empowerment: They promote confidence and empowerment, encouraging women to challenge societal norms and embrace their passion for surfing.
3. Skill Development: They provide incredible coaching and skill-building opportunities tailored to different levels, helping members improve their surfing in a supportive atmosphere. Additional opportunities to gain extra qualifications, such lifeguard and surf coaching qualifications are also available.
4. Visibility and Representation: By increasing the visibility of women in surfing, they help promote gender equality within the sport and inspire future generations of female surfers.
5. Safety and Comfort: Surfing in a female-centric environment can make some women feel more comfortable and safe, especially when learning or progressing in their skills.
Thank you for being part of our journey! 💪
