Aim
Please help my friend, who is an asylum-seeker, afford books for his qualification to help find work once his status is settled.
My friend AK is an asylum-seeker. While he pursues his right to stay in the UK, he is studying for a Networking and Cybersecurity Level 3 Certificate, to facilitate looking for work in his field once he gets leave to remain.
Under the current ridiculous rules, asylum-seekers are not allowed to work and have to survive on a very small amount of money. AK needs help to pay for the books needed for the course.
He is a refugee from Balochistan, a country in South Asia once colonised by Britain and now colonised by Pakistan and Iran, and active in its freedom struggle – which is why he is here. So by supporting him you are also indirectly supporting the Baloch people's struggle for human rights.
