GIVE MEGHAN A CHANCE AT LIFE
My cousin, Megane Augustin (25) was born in Mauritius in November 1998 to parents Mervin and Patricia Augustin. Megane's older and only sibling Melanie, sadly passed away with Bone Cancer in her teens. Little did Mervin know that he will have to go through the terrible ordeal, yet again, at watching her only surviving daughter Megane, fight this terrible illness.
MEDICAL HISTORY IN MAURITIUS
Megane was diagnosed with Classical Hogkin Lymphoma at the age of 20. In April 2020, she received 3 cycles of ABVD (a combination Chemotherapy to treat Hodgkin Lymphoma) and again in 2021.
On November 14th 2022, a CT scan showed abnormalities in the Axillary (armpit) nodes and Para-Aortic (abdominal) nodes. In 2023, Megane received further Chemotherapy treatment. After a while, glandular swelling in the groin and rapid weight loss ensued, causing great concerns for her health. Unfortunately, the Mauritian hospitals could not provide any further treatment, which resulted in Megane seeking treatment in India.
MEDICAL TREATMENT IN INDIA
On 23rd March 2024, Megane was admitted into the Artemis Hospital in India, for assessment and treatment. She will need to be administered a higher dose of 2-3 cycles of Chemotherapy and eventually a Bone Marrow transplant.
