Aim

Help us to support Mexico's homeless dogs. Mexico has 17million dogs but no recognised re-homing or rescue charity. 15,000 + dogs need help.

We need help to support the homeless dogs of Mexico. 

Mexico has the second highest number of dogs per household (70%) and 17 million dogs in total. Currently there in no recognised dog re-homing or rescue charity and very little support for homeless dogs.

There are only a few passionate amateurs, trying their best to help as many dogs as possible. 

Daphne Aranda, through her foundation BeWow has designed and produced a range of beautiful silver dog charms and rings, with money raised, to date, rescuing over 50 dogs.

Mickey the Beagle was the first dog to be rescued by the BeWow foundation.

We are seeking funds to develop a web site for this range and the means to promote this website through social media and other channels in the UK.

All of the profit generated will go back to Mexico to support more dogs.

BeWow story - BeWow is a project which main purpose is the adoption of stray homeless dogs in Mexico.

Our story began in 2018, with the creation of a silver charm with a beagle face. Mickey was our first rescue dog. There is a story behind every single silver charm of the collection.

We have been working with Mexican hand crafters for the fabrication and design of every product. With the proceeds we have been able to rescue 50 dogs in the first twoyears. We also bought some clothes, food,and medicines.

We partnered with organisations to create an awareness campaign promoting dog neutering.

This story has just began, and there is a lot of work to do.

Why we need your help ?

In the UK we are lucky to have several dog re-homing charities, some are even breed specific. The Dogs Trust, Battersea Dogs Home are national institutions, surviving on the publics charitable donations. Mexico does not have such support for homeless dogs and despite the best efforts of enthusiastic amateurs there is a major issue with homeless dogs. 

This does not mean Mexicans do not love their dogs, walk any street in Mexico City or visit one of the many wonderful parks and you will see a fantastic variety of dogs in beautifully created 'dog' spaces and grooming salons appearing in most districts.

However like any large country there are those dogs who are not so fortunate and without an infrastructure in place for re-homing or rescuing dogs, it is inevitable a large number of dogs suffer.

The current individuals rescuing and attempting to re-home dogs are swamped and desperate for support and we need your help to do this.

What your money will do ?

Daphne Aranda has designed and created a range of silver dog charms (for humans) which we hope to import into to the UK to sell to UK dog lovers and their friends.

We ask for help to create and develop a sustainable e-commerce business to keep supporting as many homeless dogs as we can for the future. 

Each dog costs £215 to rescue, this includes Vet fees, transportation, health care, treatment and re-homing advice

£1000 will create an commerce website to promote the current range of BeWow silver dog charms. 

£1000 will help buy the initial stock and import to the UK

£500 will be used as a promotional budget to help launch the product on social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram.

This initial £2500 will be the 'launch pad' BeWow requires to get a start in the UK market and help raise important funds for the dogs of Mexico.

Why an E-commerce strategy ?

We want to create a sustainable business raising necessary funds today, tomorrow and the day after. We could just ask for donations but we want to develop regular funds for Mexico's homeless dogs.

When are the charms available to buy ?

We currently have a limited number available to buy in the UK. Please email [email protected] for details.

As soon as we have the necessary funds they will be available to purchase on a website, domain name www.bewow.co.uk. This will take 4-6 weeks only.

What are they made of ?

925 silver from Mexico, handmade by an artisan producer in Mexico City.

Who is running the project ?

Taka Products Ltd. is a small UK pet distribution business. We have 3 brands we distribute in the UK. Bamboo Groom, Woolly Wolf and Alcott Adventures.

Paul Lilwall is the Director of Taka Products and he has visited Mexico twice recently to meet the designer Daphne Aranda and the manufacturer silversmith Mau.
