Help me set up a women’s rights charity in Romania

Aim

Romania is the third last country in EU on the 2020 Gender Equality Index. Help me set up & run a women's rights organisation there.

I have lived in Scotland for the past 12 years and loved every bit of it (well maybe the weather could have been better ;p). I have now decided to move back to Romania and be closer to my family.

You might know me from CND and the wider peace movement, NHS, the Glasgow Gospel Choir, the school PTA or we’ve just been brought together by our kids or common interests. It was a pleasure to meet you and would like to invite you to support my new project.

I intend to set up a charity after I settle back in Romania with the aim to reduce gender inequality, advance understanding of women's rights and empower women and girls.

With less than 13% women in senior management positions, over 39% of women inactive due to caring responsibilities and the third last country in EU on the 2020 Gender Equality Index we have a long way ahead. However, I am very optimistic that things do change if effort is poured into solving the issues and the third sector plays a crucial role in that. After all, Romania does have the narrowest gender pay gap in the EU, which shows great potential.

My education and experience equipped me with all the skills required to succeed in such a worthy cause. I hope to receive your vote of confidence and support in a form of a donation towards the first steps of my charitable project. Any donations received will be greatly appreciated.
