Any extra money raised past our target will help us to support more members joining the club, as well as providing additional equipment to enable us to continue to grow.
At Knutsford Netball Club we're desperate to return to doing what we do best - providing great opportunities for players young and old to enjoy netball. COVID has hit everyone hard but close contact sports such as netball have been hit the hardest.
Like many netball clubs across the country, we are now unable to train or play indoors and are having to rely on using facilities which aren't fit for purpose. The implications of the new Covid-safe England Netball rules require us to take part in extra cleaning routines every 15 minutes, sanitising hands, equipment and even having extra supplies of bibs to change at the end of each quarter. All of these measures are having a financial impact on the club's finances.
We are a proud club who were established in 1986, and based in the heart of Knutsford. Over the last 34 years we've worked tirelessly alongside the local community to provide netball training and playing opportunities for people of all ages from 15 - 65 years - regardless of ability.
We have four teams playing in various leagues across the North-West, all of varying abilities, including some 'back to netball' members who have recently joined to either improve their fitness or to get back into playing a team sport after a period of time away from the game - everyone is welcome at KNC!
We are a not for profit organisation, fully self funded though our members monthly fees. Since the Covid-19 pandemic started all the indoor training facilities we use have been closed. We've started training outdoors, although this is getting harder and harder as the winter months approach and we lose light earlier in the evening.
Any money raised would enable us to:
Staggeringly netball is played by over 1.4 million women across the UK and is one of the largest female participation sports in the world. KNC has over 40 members who not only train together but also socialise together - creating lifelong friendships and support networks.
Since COVID hit, our club has provided great support and reassurance to many existing and newly joined member – pulling together like one big family. We have incredibly strong links with our junior section, with many of their players progressing to join our senior section – we work hard to ensure this transition is smooth and welcoming.
Throughout COVID, whilst we haven’t been allowed to play netball, we’ve all pulled together, meeting up virtually on a regular basis to share ideas, thoughts and plans for our return to the sport we all love.
At KNC we regularly support our members and our local community by:
The club has won many honours over the years and we want to continue to compete, whilst developing the talent of the younger KNC players of the future.
Netball is at the heart of everything we do, we hope you can help support us get back to what we do best - winning games!
Thank you for your support,
