Please help Khadija!

Khadija is a 21-year-old young woman living in extreme poverty in Kolkata, eastern India. She is blighted by this terrible facial condition. Doctors suspect it is Neurofibromatosis but after government doctors told Khadija's parents when she was a baby she would die if she had surgery. Khadija has never wanted to see a doctor. She's too scared.

She has coped with this condition all her life and the excess skin continues to grow. She doesn't even know if she has eyes or a nose and her mouth is a slit on the left side of her face.

She hasn't visited a doctor since she was eight months old.

Her brothers earn £70 a month working in a bakery and her father works when he can selling fruit with no regular income.

I want to raise as much money for her as possible so that her life is eased just slightly. And hope that with enough financial backing a specialist doctor will be able to give her real answers and a firm prognosis for her future.

No one deserves to live like this. If we can help just slightly it could make a real difference to Khadija.
