We need to fix the Ecoworks van, which is essential for transport of volunteers, and of materials to allow us to run sessions.
We are lucky to have a minibus-van at Ecoworks, which we use to provide a pick-up/drop-off for volunteers from the City Centre and from St.Ann's. This makes our Community Garden much more accessible.
We also use the vehicle to transport the things we need to run our regular volunteer sessions to the site. These include gardening supplies, building materials, willow for our basketry workshops, and many other useful things besides!
Unfortunately our van has developed problems that have taken it off the road. A mechanic has estimated these will cost up to £700 to fix. We do not have this money at the moment, as the (rapidly dwindling) funds we have need to be earmarked for keeping our regular weekly sessions at the garden going.
So, we're asking supporters to chip in to keep our minibus-van on the road. We are hoping to raise £700 for the mechanic's bill, and £300 for running costs for the next few months. All support, however small, will be very gratefully received!
