Aim

Help keep Access Plymouth open, ensuring vital transport and accessibility services continue for those who rely on us.

Access Plymouth exists because too many people in our city face barriers that most of us don't currently have to think about.

Every day, we provide vital transport services and Shopmobility support for people with disabilities, mobility changes, and those at risk of isolation. Our transport services help people reach medical appointments, essential services, social connections, attend day centres and much much more. Our Shopmobility service enables people to access the city centre, helping them shop independently, meet friends, and remain part of community life.

For many people we support, these services are not a convenience - they are a lifeline.

But today, Access Plymouth is fighting for survival.

Over recent years, the funding we receive from Plymouth City Council has been cut by 46%, falling from £14,066 per month to just £7,583 per month. That is a loss of nearly £78,000 every year for a small local charity.

We didn't stand still - We did everything we could to protect the people that rely on us.

  • We restructured our organisation.
  • We reduced staff costs.
  • We introduced new services.
  • We applied for every grant available.
  • We avoided increasing fares wherever possible.

Thanks to these efforts, we are now close to breaking even - but only by using all of our financial reserves. Those reserves are now gone, and we are struggling to meet essential running costs.

Without urgent help, both our transport services and Shopmobility are at risk of closure.1779280379_16207d24c4320b785b8d76faf666f314.jpeg

If Access Plymouth closes, the impact will be immediate and devastating. People will lose their independence. People will no longer be able to access the city centre. People will be left isolated in their own homes.

We are urgently trying to raise £3,000 - £5,000 to keep Access Plymouth operating and protect these vital services while we work towards long-term sustainability.

This Crowdfunder is not about expansion or growth

  • It is about survival
  • It is about dignity
  • It is about making sure people in Plymouth are not left behind.

With your support, we can keep Access Plymouth, our transport services, and Shopmobility running - and continue to be there for those who need us most.
