Aim

Stand with AIM - help keep the studio alive. Protect a vital creative space for learning-disabled and neurodivergent artists. Support us now

Art in Motion (AIM) is a disability-led art organisation based in Bristol, working alongside learning-disabled and neurodivergent artists to create ambitious, original work, develop their creative practice, and share their work with wider audiences.

We are asking for your support at a critical moment for AIM.

For small, community-based arts organisations, the funding landscape is becoming increasingly difficult. Yet the need for spaces like AIM has never been greater. The need is urgent, but the organisation has real momentum and strong foundations for the future.

This funding will help bridge an immediate gap, keep the studio open, and ensure that artists and projects already in development can continue to be properly supported.

AIM provides supported studio space, artist development programmes, workshops, exhibitions and creative opportunities that help artists develop their practice, build confidence and connect with wider audiences. We are Artists in Residence at Arnolfini, where our studio base supports artists to create, collaborate and grow within a leading contemporary arts environment.

For many of the artists we work with, the barriers to sustaining a creative life are real and ongoing. Isolation, inaccessibility and a lack of meaningful opportunities can leave talented artists excluded from the very spaces where culture is shaped and shared. AIM exists to change that.

At the heart of our work is collaboration. Artists actively shape what happens in the studio, from the projects we develop to the ways we share work with the public. That shared ownership creates a space that is responsive, empowering and rooted in lived experience.

Every donation, whatever the size, makes a difference. By supporting AIM, you are helping to keep the studio open and ensure that artists who face disabling barriers can continue to develop their practice, build confidence and access meaningful opportunities.

Thank you for standing with us at a vital moment and helping to protect AIM and the opportunities it creates for artists to develop, connect and thrive.
