My name is Deborah, and I am fundraising in support of my friend Kareem, a dedicated fourth-year medical student from Gaza whose dream is to complete his medical education and become a doctor.

Over the past year, I have had the privilege of getting to know Kareem through countless conversations about medicine, learning, and his hopes for the future. What has impressed me most is not the extraordinary challenges he has faced, but the determination, compassion, and resilience he continues to demonstrate despite them.

Kareem is an outstanding student who remains committed to his studies under circumstances that would have forced many others to abandon their education. He speaks passionately about the patients he hopes to serve, the healthcare systems he hopes to strengthen, and the difference he wants to make in the lives of others. I genuinely believe he has the potential to become an exceptional physician and healthcare leader.

Kareem's ambition is to complete medical school, specialise in cardiac surgery, and help improve access to healthcare in underserved communities. His goal extends beyond becoming a doctor. He hopes to contribute to medical research, education, and healthcare development for future generations.

The ongoing situation in Gaza has created significant barriers to continuing higher education. This fundraiser will help Kareem access the educational resources, training opportunities, and financial support he needs to continue his studies and realise his potential.
