New stretch target
Our stretch target would mean we could keep on our Campaign Manager to work on the East Sussex County Council elections in 2025 where we also have big ambitions to be part of a ruling group.
Help Hastings Greens raise £10,000 to win big in May 2024 to become the largest group on Hastings Borough Council.

Our stretch target would mean we could keep on our Campaign Manager to work on the East Sussex County Council elections in 2025 where we also have big ambitions to be part of a ruling group.
In 2021 Julia Hilton was elected as the first Green councillor on Hastings Borough Council (and also as one of now five Greens at East Sussex County Council).
Cllr Julia Hilton (Old Hastings ward) explains,
"In May 2022 Hasting Greens won yet more seats and became a group of five, holding the balance of power at the council.
Now residents from Old Hastings to Central St Leonards have hard working Green councillors listening to local people and championing their concerns. But we want to do so much more...
In May 2024 we want to become the largest group on Hastings Borough Council.
This town and its people deserve better. We know there are areas where residents feel neglected, we know questionable decisions have been made and we know that Hastings should have a council run by hard working councillors who are driven by a need to speak up for people and planet - not councillors bound by national political decisions and hampered by infighting.
It's going to be a lot of hard work, but it will be worth it and we can't achieve it without your support.
To make our ambitious plan happen we will need to raise £10,000!"
Cllr Glenn Haffenden (Tressell ward) continues,
"This £10,000 is needed to fund a campaign organiser who will help build ward teams and coordinate the campaign. It'll also fund newsletters and campaign materials to get the word out in areas of the town we have never campaigned in. We want to tell residents about our fantastic candidates who could be their next Green councillors.
Like Becca Horn, already well known as a passionate campaigner against the blight of sea pollution."
Becca Horn adds,
"In 2022 I missed out on becoming a Hastings Borough councillor by only 5 votes! With more hard work and your support, I know I can win in 2024.
Thanks to a generous donor, who has offered match funding, every pound you donate up to £2,500 will be worth two pounds towards our target, so please give what you can. Unlike other parties, the Green Party does not accept donations from big business.
Instead we rely on lots of small donations from people like you, people who know how important our work is and who understand that Hastings deserves so much better. Please donate today, whatever you can and share, share and share again.
Together we can really make a real difference. Thank you!"
P.S. Because we're a political party
We're required to run electoral register checks from people making donations above £500, and if you donate over £1,500 during a year, we are required to let the Electoral Commission know, who will make this available on their website. All donations go to general campaigning funds.
