Let's get Hamish's boat floating again and support him in whatever way we can during this time.
UPDATE! HAMISH IS DOING A GREAT JOB WITH DRYING OUT PICKLE AND CLEANING AND RESCUING WHAT CAN BE RESCUED OF HIS POSSESSIONS.
UNFORTUNATELY BECAUSE HAMISH DIDN'T HAVE A RECENT SURVEY ON THE BOAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY DON'T WANT TO HELP COVER COSTS ECT! PLEASE DONATE WHATEVER YOU CAN, IF YOU CAN, AS EVERY SINGLE DONATION MAKES A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING.
UPDATE THE RESCUE TEAM GOT PICKLE FLOATING AGAIN TODAY! We still don't know what caused him to sink but the next few days will tell us if there is a Hull issue. We are keeping our fingers crossed for no Hull issues and no more water in board! Thank you so much for all the support you have shown so far. Hamish is beyond greatfull! The next few months are gunna be tough in terms of restoring the boat and for hamish to rebuild his home all over again so please keep donating whatever you can!

Hello lovely people,
If you can donate anything at all , to help get Hamish’s boat floating again and support him during this time, it would be such a massive help.
Hamish lives on a boat called 'pickle'. It's a very unique and loved peddle powered boat.
Unfortunately on Monday Hamish's boat sunk very suddenly whilst he was away. Even with all the boating communities risilliance, pumps and volunteers in trying to refloat pickle we weren't able to get him up off the bottom of the canal. It's so sad and my heart really goes out to pickle and Hamish.

Hamish lived full time on his boat so it is not only the boat but a much loved home and all of his possessions that has gone down.
Hamish has managed to organise a rescue boat for Thursday through insurance but unfortunately in terms of repair and of course all of his things like clothes/bedding/sentimental items ect isn't covered by the insurance.
We don't know the cause nor do we know what will happen untill Thursday. All we do know is Hamish needs our help and support right now and is going to need as much help as possible in the coming months whilst he gathers his life back together.
So we are reaching out to the community to help get pickle the peddle powered boat repaired and back floating in the water! As well as supporting Hamish in this really difficult time with what ever he may need in terms of salvaging/repairing/replacing personal items.
All those who know Hamish know what a kind, giving and inspiring bundle of energy he is to be around. His passion, resilience his kindness and loving nature is infectious to be around, he is so full of positivity.
Hamish grows vegetables for the local community on his regenerative eco farm. Middle Ground Growers. He gives so much to the land, local area and community through his work and in his daily life.

Hamish spent the last year or so lovingly restoring the boat to be a low impact, free of fossil fuels way of living on the water. He poured alot of time, money, energy and love into this project in the last year which makes it even more heartbreaking that the boat then sunk.
Hamish is positive and optimistic about restoring him again and will be peddling along the canal again soon no doubt.
Any funds raised will be used to restore interior woodwork , insulate , fix pedal powered engine, fix solar off grid electrics and once again create a happy boaty life for low impact fossil-fuel free living.
A message from hamish...
" Hey boaters ❤️ thank you so much to everyone to helped with a soggy Pickle today, amazing show of community resilience and rapid response! (whilst I was in bloody Devon couldn’t get there quick!)
..Bad news is still underwater ..
Good news is that a rescue vehicle coming Thursday to refloat and tow (likely to dundas or boa) for repair.
Pickle sitting on bottom of canal and not much to be done til rescue vehicle arrives . Insurance covers refloating & towing but not much of costs to redo boat unfortunately, but one way or another the pedal boat will be back in action and floating soon. thanks again for everyone being there and around and all the messages you’re all amazing ❤️#communityresilience #boaters
If you can support in whatever way you can it will really help.
Thank you for taking the time to read and let's get Pickle and Hamish back up together!!! ❤️
Here is pickle the peddle powered boat all afloat and cosy and warm in the snow!
