Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I’m writing to you today with an urgent plea for help—not for myself, but for my dear friends Alaa and Ahmed Alkurd, and their two precious babies who are fighting to survive in Gaza City.
You may remember their names from our earlier campaign to keep them alive day to day.
But right now—they’re starving.
Not metaphorically. Not dramatically. Literally starving.
Their baby girl Ghina, just over a year old, recently battled a severe case of chickenpox in 100+ degree heat without air conditioning, clean water, or reliable medicine. Their newborn son Joud, only weeks old and recovering from meningitis, cries from hunger—formula is nearly impossible to find, and when it can be found, it’s astronomically expensive. Diapers, clean clothes, even safe drinking water are daily miracles.
This fundraiser is not about the future.
It’s about making it through the week.
I had chstgpt make this for when we get a new one up and going. This way we can transparently raise funds for food and emergency supplies moving forward too, because exit funds are good and now they need to survive.
WHY WE’RE RAISING FUNDS
Since the start of the war, life in Gaza has collapsed. Access to food, clean water, and even basic supplies like soap and baby formula is nearly nonexistent. Aid barely reaches northern areas like Gaza City. Prices have skyrocketed. Jobs are gone. The currency of survival is hope—and help.
This fundraiser will directly help Ahmed and Alaa cover:
• 🍼 Baby formula & diapers
• 💧 Clean water for drinking and cooking
• 🍞 Basic food like bread, rice, canned goods
• 🧼 Hygiene supplies
• 👕 Clothes for their children, who’ve outgrown what little they have
• 💊 Medicine when available
• 💡 Fuel for light, heat, and charging their phones to stay connected to us

WHO THEY ARE
✨ Alaa is one of the kindest souls you will ever know. She graduated top of her class in Arabic Literature from Al-Azhar University. Her words carry beauty, but it’s her spirit that carries others.
✨ Ahmed is a devoted father and relentless protector. He worked as a graphic designer and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration. His dream was never war—it was a PhD, a peaceful home, and the laughter of his children.
They’ve already lost so much. They’ve faced displacement, airstrikes, the birth of two babies under siege, and an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe. Yet, every time I speak to them, they are somehow still holding on—not just for themselves, but for each other.
Their only crime was being born on the wrong side of a border that won’t let them leave.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Your donation—no matter how small—will help this family survive another day.
$5 can buy a small piece of bread.
$20 can help get clean water.
$50 can buy a few diapers.
$100 could buy life saving formula.
Every share might connect them to someone who can help.
If you’ve ever felt helpless watching the news, this is one thing you can do that matters. This is direct. This is real. This is love in action.
If nothing else, let this family know they are not forgotten. That across the world, strangers care enough to say: You matter. We see you. We will not let you fade in silence.
