Aim

The Woom Room needs your help! Our shop had to unexpectedly close a month into opening our new space in the CCA, help save our dream!

Our Vision: A Place of Wonder, Inclusion & Inspiration

The Woom Room is more than a business — it’s a utopia. A space that champions harmony, care, and love through art and events that spark conversations on mental health, motivation, human rights, love, care, play and accessibility. We platform aspiring and established artits, hire from diverse communities, and try as much as we can to create a space where everyone feels seen and valued.

Our events have drawn hundreds of people, from immersive exhibitions to transformative workshops, each crafted with passion and care. But the scale and costs of these events are significant - from venue hire, artist fees, materials, to marketing and staffing. This is where your support becomes vital.

What Happened & How It Impacted Us

Recently, we faced an unforeseen crisis. Losing access to the CCA premises meant we were cut off from our stock and workspace for weeks. Our artists could not make money from their equipment and their livelihoods have been impacted. This pause halted our revenue and drained our working capital. The ripple effects are profound:

  • Our dedicated team - Lucy & May (social media), Aderayo & Daisy (events), Tilly & Freya (shop) Marianna (clothing) - some have been unable to work or receive pay during the closure.
  • The artists we platform lost opportunities to showcase their work and connect with audiences because their equipment was trapped inside the building
  • Our community lost a vital creative hub that nurtures inclusion and accessibility.

This disruption threatens not just our business but the creative ecosystem we’ve nurtured - a loss felt deeply by everyone involved.

How Your Support Will Help

We are asking for your help to rebuild, regroup, and reimagine The Woom Room’s future. Here’s how your contribution will be used:

  • Restock & Reopen: To regain access to stock and workspace, cover rent, and operational costs.
  • Pay Our Team: To fairly compensate our incredible team who keep the heart of The Woom Room beating.
  • Support Artists: To fund artist commissions, exhibitions, and community programs that amplify diverse voices.
  • Event Costs: To cover venue, materials, marketing, and accessibility needs for upcoming events.
  • Build our website - we are in the process of doing so but progress is slow because of low funds. The plan is to have an illustrated and animated site that is very user friendly and interactive but also allows the business to be pretty admin free as most information will be provided through a login for artists and payouts through their accounts will be available. This will free up time for creative pursuits and give artists a more detailed analysis of what work sells so they can create more of the same or down a similar path.

Every pound you give breathes life back into a space that’s more than a business - it’s a community lifeline.

Our Dreams for the Year are Now on Hold

We had ambitious, sustainable plans to expand our impact:

  • Launching an upcycled clothing line to promote sustainable fashion and creativity.
  • Developing an app to connect creatives and audiences beyond physical walls.
  • Run regular workshops centred around reuse for the general public at a reduced rate so that they are accessible.
  • Growing The Woom Room as a creative incubator supporting mental health, human rights, community building and accessibility.

But these dreams are on pause. Instead of expanding, we are scrambling to survive - facing debts and uncertainty. Your support helps us turn this story around and continue our mission to inject joy and hope into today’s challenging world.

Join Us in Creating Positive Change

Our dreams are big but grounded in sustainability and community. We believe The Woom Room can spark inspiration and positive change - a beacon of hope in a modern dystopia.

With your help, we can rebuild stronger, support more creatives, and continue to be a place where art heals, empowers, and uplifts.

Thank you for believing in The Woom Room - a utopia for Scotland’s creative souls.

Kind words from some of our artists:

Max Machen - Woom Room were one of the first shops that believed in my work. Selling work with them gave me the confidence to quit my part time job and go full time with my creative work! They were there for me just at the right time for me. They have also provided me with a platform to connect with other creatives and take part in some great exhibitions some of which my most popular prints came from.

Jason Kerley - It’s safe to say some of the work I’m most proud of wouldn’t exist without Woom Room. The support and platforms Woom Room has provided me over the years has given me the time and confidence to make pieces that would have otherwise not come into fruition.

Lauren Morsley - Woom Room is a fixture in Glasgow's creative scene and has helped many artists, including myself over the years. They played an integral part especially at the beginning of my career in getting my work seen and bought through their shop, exhibitions and commissioning work. Woom room not only supports artists at various stages of their journeys but champions them and comes up with innovative ways to show their work to the world and helps them connect with other creatives, which that I am thankful for!
