Help get Darron the litter picker back on his bike

Darron has had his precious bike stolen!! Please will help raise funds to get him back in the saddle.

Anyone who walks around Elsecar and Hoyland and along the TPT is bound to have seen this lovely man out and about on his trike collecting litter daily. His name is Darron, he suffers from MS and the trike has been cruelly stolen from him.

I am calling on you lovely people to help in any way you can no matter how small to get Darron a replacement trike as soon as possible.
This is more than just a trike to Darron, this is his life and he is absolutely devastated to be without it. He is so passionate about litter picking, come rain or shine, he would travel miles every day picking up litter along his journey as well as always having the time for a friendly chat with passers by. Many of you will have no doubt seen him and hopefully many of you will have also stopped for a chat too so I am pleading on his behalf with you, the good folk of Barnsley to help get Darron back on the road again.

This is what Darron has told me:

“Since buying my trike, just over 2 years ago, my life has changed, I wasn't stuck in the house, because of my difficulty walking, I suffer from MS I went out everyday, to feed the swans, on my journeys I picked up litter, I had covered just over 8,000 miles in the 2 years and I'm sure I filled more than 1 bin lorry. My friend in Burngreave is paralyzed from the waist down, so once a week I would visit to vacuum and make her bed, we have been friends for about 50 years, since my disability began. I visited as usual and secured my mobility trike to th metal drainpipe. Fixed to the wall, but in broad daylight it was yanked free by thieves and has devastated me. I had modified my trike to carry a bin and litter picker it was a Jorvik Mt a really great machine.”
