Aim: Transformative employability support for women who have experienced significant trauma through trafficking and exploitation.
LoveWell’s Mission is to create supportive pathways into employment for women who have experienced significant trauma through trafficking and exploitation. We offer transformative training and support, for women to grow in confidence, increase their skills, abilities as well as self-worth enabling them to move confidently into employment.
Our trainees learn how to create luxurious, high-quality wellbeing products, using sustainable materials and practices. They create candles, bath oils, salts and reed diffusers that are vegan, as well as organic, packaged in recyclable and reusable materials. As a direct result of completing LoveWell’s Work Well programme, trainees have moved into alternative long-term employment or education/training. We now directly employ one of our previous trainees and aim to increase such employment opportunities with LoveWell in the future.
100% of our profits go back into the work we do.
"When I have finished making the products I think 'wow', I am proud of myself, I feel smart, like a genius! [I have] a sense of achievement, I'm happy, I want to show people - look what I have made!"
We want to continue the work we are doing, offering support to marginalised groups of women in Bristol. As a business with strong social value, the cost of getting our products to market comes at a higher price than a regular business. Sales of our products contribute to training women in the skills they need to thrive. All of our profits are invested into the work we do with our trainees - whilst they are with us and in supporting them after the programme as they move into employment.
We are crowdfunding to raise £5,000, which will enable us to further develop our training programme. We will provide sales and marketing skills to the trainees, advancing their general business knowledge, with the goal of actively including them in the products they make - as a key part of our marketing team and strategy.
Furthermore, We have also been accepted onto the British Airways Better Community Fund, who will match fund our total funding if we are successful, meaning every pound you donate will be doubled.
We know this programme works! 60% of women who work with us move into formal employment following the programme. All trainees are offered mentoring support for between 6 months and a year following the programme. Many say this support is what encourages them to seek employment after their time with LoveWell.
Every pound you donate will have a significant impact, for example £25 funds two hours of intensive employability support for one woman.
Our products are handmade in small, unique batches. The range includes bottles of bath salts, body oils and two ranges of soy candles: massage and aromatherapy, both containing pure essential oils. From the suppliers to the packaging, every effort is made to use local businesses - working with suppliers who directly support local communities in the production of the raw materials that go into our products. Through the creation of our products, our aim is to be recognised as a leading light in the beauty industry- a creative business model with a social core.
