Help freeing Pakistani family from slavery labour.
In Pakistan, human rights groups say that many kiln managers provide loans to workers- who are then unable to repay and have no choice but to work as slaves- a practice that is widespread despite being outlawed in 1992. Workers cannot pay back loans because of meagre earnings and the very high interests. Trying to re-pay the loan, whole families including children as young as 6-years old have to work excessive amount of hours, stopping kids from attending school. All workers are denied their rights.
As a catholic church community in Warrington, we want to take part in freeing one of these families by paying off their debt, so they can live normal live. We want to ask our supporters and friends for kind donations for this cause. May God bless you all.
