Aim

This is a fundraiser for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria (money will go to NGOs in the region).

Hello everyone,

We are the Rotaract Clubs of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University of District 1220 of Rotaract Great Britain and Ireland.

All of you know that a devastating earthquake struck Turkey and Syria on the 6th of February. Over 40,000 people have died so far, and the number is rapidly growing, as over 10,000 buildings have collapsed.

We, as a service club, want to help the victims and families in the region. Our goal is to raise £5,000 and give it to NGOs and Rotaract Districts in the area that are making a difference, helping people and rebuilding.

We want to donate 45% of the money to Rotaracts in the area, as they are building a tent city for the victims in the Turkish area of the disaster. The money will be used for tents and containers, that will host 4-5 people/tent.  Another 45% will go towards the fundraiser by the Syria Campaign, started by a volunteer of the White Helmets. They are an NGO helping the victims on the Syrian side. The final 10% will go towards the Rotary Foundation Disaster Response Fund which is providing money and aid in the area.

We, the Club of Nottingham, hope you can donate. Any amount is important and appreciated.
