The 2022 Local Elections take place on 5th May 2022 and Calderdale Green Party will again have a full slate of candidates, allowing all residents the chance to vote for the UK’s most progressive party. We’re intending to run an active campaign across the Borough and hope to win our first Council seat ever in Northowram and Shelf, where Martin Hey is running against the Conservative incumbent.
Martin explains why he is standing:
‘I’m thrilled to have been chosen as the Green Party’s candidate for the election in Northowram and Shelf on 5 May 2022.
‘Over the last 20 months, we’ve been delighted by the support we’ve received from local people. I’m determined to help them when I get elected.
‘Having come second with 24% of the vote in May 2021, it’s a clear choice between me and the Conservative candidate. Labour never win in Northowram and Shelf.
‘I’m looking forward to the election. If I’m successful, I promise to be a strong independent voice holding the current Labour-led council to account.’
To run such an ambitious and active campaign across the Borough costs money — so we need your help. Any donations received will be much appreciated and will go directly towards the cost of the campaign.
Together we can create a Greener Calderdale — thanks for your help.
